Israel Strikes Tehran Oil Facilities as Iran Drone Attack Damages Bahrain Desalination Plant
Tensions across the Middle East intensified as Israel reportedly struck oil facilities in Tehran while Iranian drone attacks targeted infrastructure in the Gulf region. The latest escalation has raised concerns about wider regional instability.
According to international reports, U.S. and Israeli strikes hit oil storage depots and refining facilities in Tehran, marking one of the first direct attacks on energy infrastructure in the Iranian capital during the current conflict. The strikes reportedly triggered large fires that spread across parts of the city.
Meanwhile, authorities in Bahrain confirmed that an Iranian drone strike caused material damage to a water desalination plant, a critical facility for the country’s water supply. The incident came shortly after Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United States of bombing a freshwater desalination plant on Qeshm Island in southern Iran a day earlier.
Several Gulf countries including Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have also reported additional Iranian attacks. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly apologized and pledged to stop strikes on Gulf states if no attacks are launched from their territories.
In Lebanon, an Israeli airstrike on a hotel in Beirut reportedly killed at least four people, further expanding the conflict’s impact across the region.
